Doug Johns, LCSW has been a dedicated student of Zen Meditation since 2002. He has a daily meditation practice through which he practices and refines the skills he teaches. In 2008 Doug completed an intensive professional training in Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) under the direction of Dr. Jon Kabat-Zinn and Dr. Saki Santorelli of the Center For Mindfulness at the University of Massachusetts Medical School. MBSR is a highly structured and research driven approach for educating people in the use of Mindfulness-Meditation for physical and emotional healing. Replicated studies with MBSR have demonstrated improvement in pain reduction, depression relapse, anxiety, and attention problems.
